Update from Administrator – July 28, 2020
7-28-20 COVID-19
As always, our team and I hope this email finds you safe and healthy.
From the beginning of this crisis, we have implemented extensive infection control measures to protect residents. I have listed those in many past weekly emails, our bi-weekly “Town Hall” conference calls, and this information remains on our website.
We are happy to report that we remain COVID free! As mentioned on our last communication, we conducted another round of resident testing and all test results returned negative.
We have completed testing all staff for another “baseline” and all test results were negative. We will continue testing and reporting at regular intervals as required by CDC and DPH.
Marlborough Hills, like so many other nursing home organizations, will be celebrating NATIONAL NURSING HOME WEEK August 9-15, 2020
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, this annual celebration was postponed. We will be celebrating with a theme of “The Carnival” and throughout the week our residents and staff will be enjoying a variety of Games, Sno-Cones, Cotton Candy, BBQ, Popcorn, Cake-Pops, Themed Ice Cream on-a-stick, and more. We are committed to celebrate in a controlled manner with emphasis on safety while allowing some much needed and well deserved fun!
I want to reiterate that this pandemic is still active and while Marlborough Hills remains COVID free, the Commonwealth continues to report new cases of COVID and as we see in the news, some States continue to surge with new cases. This serves as a reminder that we must all remain vigilant in following all guidelines, recommendations, and best practices to stay safe and fight this pandemic.
Each nursing unit has tablets assigned for resident use such as virtual visits, games, etc.
We have fresh air time where residents can get some much needed sunshine while supervised to ensure social distancing.
We are also now scheduling resident outdoor social distancing activities programs.
We continue to offer outdoor supervised social distancing visits 5 times a week. The days are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. We will offer after hour’s visits on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and will continue with normal business hours on Saturdays.
Please continue to use our special email address Info@marlboroughhillsrhcc.com to request virtual visits, outdoor social distancing visits, or ask questions.
If I could bring to your attention to two important Amendments to House Bill 4888 as described in the attachment I have provided herein.
This would be #20 Establishing a PPE Exchange and #70 Funding Isolation Rooms in Nursing Facilities.
7-28-20 Ask Your State Representative to Support Amendments
Please send an email to your State Representative and urge him/her to support Amendment #20/PPE Exchange for Eldercare Providers and Amendment #70/COVID-19 Isolation Space.
